The short version:We collect only what we need to generate your covers and run your account. Your title and brief are sent to our AI providers to make the cover — don't paste confidential manuscript text. We never sell your data, never use it to train AI, and you can have your account and data deleted by emailing us.

1. Data we collect

Account data (email and name from sign-up or Google OAuth), book metadata you provide (title, author, subtitle, genre, brief), uploaded reference images, generated cover images, payment records (handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number), and usage analytics (page views, conversion events).

2. Why we collect it

  • Operate the cover generation service and your account
  • Process payments via Stripe (we do not store card data)
  • Improve the product (anonymized usage analytics)
  • Send transactional email (receipts, account notices)

3. AI processing

Your book title, brief, and any uploaded image are sent to our AI providers (FAL.ai and KIE.ai) to generate covers, and may be processed outside your country. Do not submit confidential manuscript text or personal data you do not want processed by these providers. We do not use your inputs or generated covers to train AI models.

4. Who processes your data

We use a small set of standard service providers to operate the service: payment processing (Stripe), AI image generation, cloud hosting, storage, sign-in, email, analytics, and session replay (Microsoft Clarity). Some are located outside your country (including the US); where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We do not sell your data or use it to train AI models. You can ask us for the current list of the specific processors we use, or to access or delete your data, at support@makemybookcover.com.

5. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing support@makemybookcover.com. We respond to GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA requests within 30 days.

California residents: we do not sell or share your personal information, and you may request access or deletion at the address above.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for: authentication (Better Auth session), product analytics (GA4 with IP anonymization, and Microsoft Clarity for aggregate session replay and heatmaps to see where the interface confuses people), and conversion attribution (Google Ads tag). We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site ad profiling, and we do not sell your data. Visitors in the EEA / UK are asked for consent before any non-essential cookies (analytics, Clarity, ads) load; elsewhere they load by default and you can opt out via the cookie banner.

7. Enhanced Conversions for Ad Attribution

When you complete a paid purchase on makemybookcover.com, your browser computes a one-way SHA-256 hash of your account email and sends only the hashed value to Google Ads. This lets Google match the purchase to your earlier ad click — including across devices — without exposing your plain email. Plain-text email is never transmitted to Google for attribution. You can opt out by clearing cookies, completing checkout in a private / incognito window, or disabling ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
